Principal's message

Waniora Public School opened in 1953 and has been proudly a part of our community for the past 64 years.

At Waniora Public School we provide students with opportunities to excel through delivering quality learning experiences. We recognise that learning is a life-long process. Our students are guided and encouraged to be self-directed learners. They are assisted by skilled and passionate staff to become responsible, confident risk takers who apply critical, creative and lateral thinking skills.

Our school operates under the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) program. Our students are encouraged in developing respectful and tolerant relationships with their peers and are supported in building self-esteem and resilience as well as honing their conflict resolution and communication skills.

Our core values of respect, responsibility and safety continue to define who we are as a learning community.

Waniora Public School has well-resourced classrooms with a modern school hall and library as more recent additions to our attractive, spacious campus. Our students benefit academically from a continuing focus on 21st century technologies coupled with innovative teaching practice. Our school places high importance on teacher quality. Our staff are committed to ongoing professional development targeted at the continuous improvement of student learning outcomes.

We are fortunate to be supported by an active parent community. Parents assist in the classroom and at school events, conduct significant fundraising to support school programs and the purchase of resources and are valued partners in the learning process.

Nestled between the lush, picturesque Illawarra Escarpment and beautiful, inviting beaches, Waniora Public School is an aesthetically welcoming and educationally exciting place to learn.
